DONE DEAL: Dave Canales give out a massage to the supporters of Panthers after their offseason.
Dave Canales Is Sending Out A Message To Panthers Supporters
The Carolina Panthers appeared to be a team that could be headed in the right direction after making several bold decisions during the previous NFL offseason, most notably trading for the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and drafting prospective franchise quarterback Bryce Young.
Unfortunately, Young had a terrible season from beginning to end, and the Panthers ended with a dreadful 2-15 record. The 2023 campaign turned out to be an utter disaster for the team.
The Panthers brass fired head coach Frank Reich during the regular season due to the team’s dismal play, and Dave Canales was named as Reich’s replacement.
Canales, who was most recently the offensive coordinator for the division foe Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will be taking on his first head coaching position in the NFL. This is a risky decision for a franchise that has an impatient owner in David Tepper and is looking to win now.
Canales, who is officially the new head coach of Carolina, has a message on Twitter for both his new club and the supporters.
“Want to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone for last week’s wonderful greeting for my incredible family! Let’s continue to work! We Panther Nation will need to band together for this, soEvery day, every performance, NEVER STOPS! stated Canales.
Canales will have his work cut out for him going ahead because Tepper is eager to put together a winner as quickly as possible and isn’t exactly patient at the moment.
The question of whether Young is the best player to play under center for the Panthers remains unanswered, adding to the strain of an impatient owner observing every move.
It doesn’t help that C.J. Stroud had an incredible rookie season with the Houston Texans, and Anthony Richardson appears to be the real deal with the Indianapolis Colts.
