BRUTALLY TRADE: Raiders sign a key player of Defensive Tackle of 2024 NFL offseason today.
Contract Raiders: DT Marquan McCall.
Just two defensive tackles were signed by the Las Vegas Raiders to reserve/future contracts last month, including Marquan McCall. McCall was acquired by the Raiders to their practice squad in December. He hadn’t been on an NFL roster for nearly four months. The Kentucky native, 24, signed a free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers in 2022 as an undrafted free agent. In his 16 games as a rookie, he recorded a total of 15 tackles, 2 for losses, and 1 quarterback hit.
Then, at 2023 training camp, McCall was waived. The New England Patriots took him off waivers the very next day, but a failed physical the next day led to his waiver claim. Right now, the 6-foot-3, 345-pound defensive tackle is signed to a $915,000, one-year deal.
Although McCall faces considerable competition in the Raiders defensive tackle room, he has already demonstrated in his short career that he has what it takes to be a useful practice squad member.
McCall recorded 57 total tackles at the conclusion of his collegiate career, including 10 for losses, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass defensed. The NFL Scouting Combine will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, from February 27 to March 4, 2024. The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25–27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. The 13th overall pick is presently held by the Las Vegas Raiders.
