OFFICIAL NEWS: See Carolina Panthers key players who makes a remarkable performance.
In the thrilling Chiefs-49ers Super Bowl in Las Vegas, former Carolina Panthers excel.
A few former Carolina Panthers performed brilliantly during Super Bowl LVIII. The best of them all, however, was Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who was selected by the Panthers in the 2017 NFL Draft and had a tremendous game on Sunday. At Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, he made all of his field goal attempts flawless, including a game-tying field goal late in the fourth quarter and a Super Bowl record 57-yarder in the third quarter, which helped his team win 25–22 in overtime.
Butker’s work contributed to the Chiefs winning their third Super Bowl in the previous five years. Several additional former Panthers participated in the event on Sunday. Loved former Panthers Christian McCaffrey and Steve Wilks were instrumental in the 49ers’ ascent to the NFL’s most prized championship.
McCaffrey gained 80 yards on 22 carries by the end of the game. Eight catches, 80 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown were also added by one of the most productive running backs of the modern age. After being traded to the 49ers in2022, McCaffrey, 27, spent 2023 demonstrating, in many respects, that he remained the same McCaffrey from before. Prior to injuries curtailing his time in Carolina, McCaffrey had amassed 1,000 receiving yards and 1,000 rushing yards in 2019.
Wilks performed admirably on Sunday as well. For the majority of Sunday, the 49ers’ defensive coordinator assisted in holding tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes in check. In addition to Wilks, the city of Charlotte would have benefited greatly from a victory. In the 1990s, the 54-year-old coach at Johnson C. Smith started his coaching career after he played collegiate football at Appalachian State and graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1987.
Since then, he has coached in the NFL for over 25 years, the most of which he has spent with the Panthers. He was the Panthers’ defensive coordinator on the 2015 squad that made it to the Super Bowl but lost. After Matt Rhule was sacked early in 2022, he served as both the defensive coordinator and the interim head coach. Frank Reich eventually beat him out for the head position, and he later relocated to San Francisco.
Wilks and McCaffrey would have won their first Super Bowls with the victory. On the greatest stage of the NFL, Butker, McCaffrey, and Wilks weren’t the only Carolina natives who made contributions. Among others: 49ers playmaker Deebo Samuel recorded three receptions for 33 yards, Chiefs tight end Noah Gray added two receptions for 22 receiving yards, and 49ers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave produced three tackles and a sack.
