BRUTALLY: Panthers have found another new Hire Coaching Staff.
Pete Carroll’s son joins the Panthers coaching staff.
Nathan Carroll was brought on by the Carolina Panthers on Thursday to oversee the passing game.
Carroll is the son of former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, who spent 14 seasons as a sideline coach before moving into an advisory position with the team. This explains why Carroll’s name may sound familiar.
Since his father started playing for the Seahawks in 2010, Nathan Carroll has held a number of positions with the team.
The younger Carroll will rejoin his former Seahawks teammates, Dave Canales of the Panthers, who was their coach from 2010 to 2022. Canales led the wide receivers during his first eight seasons before Carroll assumed the position from 2018 to 2021.
Furthermore, Dan Morgan, the current general manager of the Panthers, was employed by the Seahawks from 2010 to 2017.
Carroll will be taking on the role of passing game coordinator for the first time. In his eleventh and twelve years with the Seahawks, Canales worked his way up to the position of passing game coordinator.
Though he won’t have a job come NFL season 2024, Nathan Carroll’s father, the famed coach, hasn’t ruled out going back to coaching in the future.
