The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 on Tuesday night. Milwaukee’s five-game winning streak came to an end with the loss, and they now have a 36-25 season record. The Brewers now lead the Chicago Cubs by six games in the National League Central Division standings after the Cubs defeated the White Sox, their crosstown rivals. The Cincinnati Reds are eight games down, the Pittsburgh Pirates are seven and a half games behind, and the St. Louis Cardinals are seven games behind.

Milwaukee had a lot of uncertainty surrounding their starting pitching before the 2024 Major League Baseball season ever got underway. Due to his injuries from the previous season, Brandon Woodruff was sidelined for the whole season and Corbin Burnes was dealt to the Baltimore Orioles.

The following starting pitchers have needed to visit the injured list (IL) due to various injuries since the start of the season:

Joe Ross DL Hall Riley needs Tommy John surgery, therefore he will miss the entire season. While Hall and Ross are currently dealing with their ailments, Junis has begun a rehabilitation assignment and may soon be back in the starting lineup.
