OFFICIAL NEWS: After the Bills’ playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, a player standout and casts doubt on his future in Buffalo today.
While in Las Vegas for the Pro Bowl Games, wide receiver Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills voiced concerns about his future there.
Diggs’ future in Buffalo has been called into question on multiple occasions in recent years, mainly because of his dissatisfaction with the team’s inability to advance past the regular season.
Additionally, the wide receiver cast doubt on his future with the Bills after their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round last month.
“At the Pro Bowl, I feel like I take it day by day,” he said to reporters. It goes without saying that a lot is changing and happening.
“You know what I mean when I say that you can’t really put the carriage before the horse?” However, I have a fantastic offseason ahead of me to work hard and kind of build on what we have and are doing.
He responded, “I’m ready to go no matter which way it goes,” when asked if he was ready to move on with the team.
Diggs finished the regular season with 1,183 yards, eight touchdowns, and 107 receptions.
Diggs only managed three receptions for 21 yards in the Chiefs playoff loss. After missing a crucial 60-yard pass in the fourth quarter that probably could have altered the game’s outcome, that effort was his least productive of the season.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the league. We all want certain plays back as players, and at the end of the game, in particular, there are things that I would like to see happen again. However, there isn’t much you can do about it, he remarked following the Chiefs game.
Now that you’ve had a few weeks to reflect and unwind, things may have gone more smoothly. However, I’m kind of moving forward and taking the punches.
Diggs signed a four-year contract extension with the team in 2022, and he presently has three years left on it. His salary cap hit for the next season is $27.354 million.
In a recent press conference, Bills general manager Brandon Beane waxed lyrical about the wideout.
Beane stated, “We have to keep putting weapons out there to prevent teams from bracketing him or locking him down in various ways to take him away.”
“Stef remains a player.” He would undoubtedly enjoy having that deep ball once more. The first to know would be him. He is fiercely competitive. This offseason, he will put in a ton of work.
“I see Stef as a No. 1 receiver even though there are a lot of questions or different reasons regarding this or his production.”
