SO SAD: Liverpool nine key players on fire today.
Burnley will see Liverpool minus nine players due to an illness outbreak among the group.
The absence of multiple important players will present a challenge for Jurgen Klopp when Liverpool takes on Burnley.
This afternoon, the Reds will host the Clarets at Anfield for their Premier League match. Liverpool enters the match fresh off their first Premier League loss since the end of September. They were defeated by Arsenal.
Wataru Endo’s return to the matchday squad today will give Liverpool hope. Due to his recent success with Japan at the Asian Cup, the midfield player has missed the last seven Reds games.
Nevertheless, a few players won’t be able to play today. Ibrahima Konate, who was given two yellow cards against Arsenal and will serve his one-game suspension against Burnley, is one player who will be missing.
After making his first appearance since April of last year against the Gunners, Thiago Alcantara is the most recent name to be added to the treatment room in relation to injuries. Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah have both been ruled out of the match against the Clarets.
    Mohamed Salah
After suffering an injury while representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, Mohamed Salah has not appeared on the field for Liverpool since New Year’s Day. Although the forward has been speeding up his recuperation, Burnley is not anticipated to have him available.
    Dominik Szoboszlai
Due to a hamstring injury, Dominik Szoboszlai has been sidelined for the most of 2024. He returned against Chelsea last week, but due to a similar fitness issue, he was not present for Sunday’s loss to Arsenal and is therefore not eligible to play tonight.
    Bradley Conor
Conor Bradley will miss today’s match for Liverpool due to his father’s passing. Following the death of his father, Joe, Bradley was unable to attend the Arsenal match.
    Alcantara Thiago
After suffering a hamstring injury against Arsenal, Thiago Alcantara was yet another injury blow for Liverpool. It is currently anticipated that the midfield player will miss time again, and it is not yet clear when he might return.
     Tsimikas Kostas
Since December 23, Kostas Tsimikas has been out due to a broken collarbone he sustained against Arsenal at Anfield. Although the left-back’s recuperation has accelerated recently, a return to the matchday squad is not currently anticipated.
     Joel Matip
Joel Matip’s ACL injury will keep him out of action for the rest of the season. The center defender may have played his last game for Liverpool because his contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
     Ibrahima Konate
Ibrahima Konate will undoubtedly miss Liverpool’s match against Burnley today. The center back’s two yellow cards from the match against Arsenal will result in a one-game suspension.
     Bajcetic Stefan
Due to a calf injury, Stefan Bajcetic has not played for Liverpool since September, meaning that he has missed most of the season. When the midfield player will rejoin the matchday squad is still unknown.
