Blockbuster News: Top 30 squad members fired Bulldogs team.
Bulldogs and a member of the Top 30 squad are allegedly in a legal dispute.
According to reports, the player who left the Canterbury Bulldogs’ training session and stepped down due to mental health concerns last year is locked in a court battle with the team.
The guy, who hasn’t been identified because of the severity of his mental health, was first mentioned by News Corp. last year. He arrived late for practice before the coaching staff chose to punish him for being late.
According to reports, the coaching staff allegedly made him wrestle more than 12 guys as a kind of punishment. The Daily Telegraph reports that negotiations between the player’s manager and the club broke down, and that the NRL welfare team and the RLPA are currently keeping an eye on the matter. The two sides are allegedly embroiled in a legal dispute.
The player’s manager declined to comment on the subject, so Bulldogs Chief Executive Aaron Warburton told the publication, “I can’t because there’s legal proceedings underway.”
Although the player hasn’t returned to training since the incident from last season, it is understood that he or she is still one of the club’s Top 30 players. It is also unclear if the athlete is still receiving compensation.
Speaking to the media about the incident last year, Cameron Ciraldo supported the club’s discipline and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to raising standards in an effort to make the Bulldogs a finals contender in the coming years.
Last year, Ciraldo told the reporters, “I won’t be commenting because it’s a pretty sensitive issue.”
“We’ve wanted to set various criteria at different periods, and if you’re late, we have to take action. I don’t want to comment particularly on that.
Our goal is to establish norms. We desire performance standards that are competitive. A portion of it has to do with money, another with wheel spinning, and still another with attempting to figure out how to alter behavior.
“I think we’ve done a good job of changing behaviors throughout the season, but the reality is that we need to change here.” And I’m truly sorry for the supporters who are currently with us.
“We don’t seem to have improved this year based on the same victories as last year.” Undoubtedly, we haven’t regressed.
