From a coaching standpoint, everything is going well for your Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers will stick with Ryan Ficken, their current special teams coordinator, despite other clubs trying to steal him. Khris Rhim of ESPN was one of the first to report.

Rhim claims that it is a multi-year agreement. This is hardly surprising, considering the team prevented him from doing interviews with other companies. The Los Angeles Chargers, under the direction of their new offensive coordinator, Greg Roman, defensive coordinator, Jesse Minter, and now Ficken, have coordinators for every aspect of the game.

In 2023, Ficken took the special teams to unprecedented levels. With an average of 3.1 yards per punt return—the highest average allowed by a team charger in fifty years—he led his unit to the NFL lead. In addition, he managed the best kicking unit in the AFC, who despite their kicking side injury problems made 31 out of 33 field goals. Retaining him is a huge victory for the company because his unit was one of the best in 2023. Ficken merits his new arrangement. Ryan, welcome back!
