OFFICIAL NEWS: Kids injured in Chiefs parades and the ones shot.
At the Chiefs parade, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes visit children who were shot.
Two young sisters, ages 8 and 10, were shot in the legs during Wednesday’s parade and rally. The sisters underwent surgery and will wear casts for several months. They are “making good progress” and have started physical therapy, according to a statement from their family.
Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, and his wife Brittany Mahomes paid the girls a visit in the hospital following their shooting at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade. A total of 22 people were injured in the mass shooting, which authorities said appeared to be the result of a dispute.
Along with thanking the Mahomeses and the staff at Children’s Mercy Hospital, the family also posted pictures of the well-known couple’s hospital visit.
The family stated, “We are immensely appreciative of the love, support, and prayers during this trying time. “While we are relieved by their progress, the emotional healing continues for all of us.”
According to authorities, at least half of the victims of the shooting on Wednesday are younger than sixteen.
Officials stated that two young suspects who are accused of possessing firearms and thwarting arrest are being held.
