Ameer Abdullah, a former running back for the Detroit Lions, is extending his reach into the film industry while he plays for the Las Vegas Raiders. He has been cast in the upcoming movie “Break the Cycle,” which stars Vivica A. Fox, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and Vernon Davis, a former NFL tight end.
In the second round of the 2015 Draft, the Detroit Lions selected Abdullah from Nebraska with the 54th overall pick. He agreed to a four-year, $4.15 million contract after being selected, with a guaranteed $1.85 million and a $1.28 million signing bonus.

Abdullah demonstrated his ability throughout his three and a half seasons with the Lions, setting a team record with 597 yards gained through rushes in his debut campaign. On the other hand, he struggled to hold onto his spot on the Detroit depth chart during his second season due to injury issues. Finally, in December 2018, the Lions waived him, and the Minnesota Vikings then claimed him. In March of 2022, Abdullah inked a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders after spending a season with the Carolina Panthers.

Professional athletes have frequently expanded their horizons by pursuing acting; the former running back for the Lions is just the most recent example.
