BREAKING NEWS: Abdullah of the Raiders will play the lead…
Abdullah of the Raiders will play the lead in a future movie.
Ameer Abdullah, a running back with the Las Vegas Raiders, will play the lead in the upcoming urban drama “Break the Cycle.”
Ameer Abdullah, the running back for the Las Vegas Raiders, has a lengthy history in the NFL, but many people may not be aware of his other endeavors.
Abdullah works as a screenwriter, producer, and actor. He is currently getting ready for what could be his biggest on-screen role to date.
In a forthcoming Urban drama titled “Break the Cycle,” a story written by former NBA player Jarnell Stokes, Abdullah has been cast for the lead part, according to a press release. Production is scheduled to start in March.
“This film explores themes of family, ambition, and the moral complexities of urban life through the thrilling world of streetball,” Stokes said. It depicts the tale of a young child who must navigate a perilous path—a tragic reality for far too many young boys in our urban cities. Ameer’s addition to this incredibly gifted ensemble of performers, who will aid in bringing this film to life, excites me much.
Alongside Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. and former NFL Pro Bowl tight end and Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis, Abdullah will be in the cast.
Josh Weber is directing the movie.
Since 2019, Abdullah has served as the executive producer of three movies and is now working on a fourth.
Over the last two seasons, the veteran running back has appeared in every game for the Raiders. Abdullah has 342 receiving yards, one score, and 109 rushing yards during his tenure with the Silver and Black. In the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Abdullah was selected by the Detroit Lions.
The NFL Scouting Combine will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, from February 27 to March 4, 2024.
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25–27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. The No. 13 overall pick is presently in the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders.
