The Raiders interview for signing of assistant Coaching staff.
Raiders are looking to hire a proven NFL and college assistant to instruct quarterbacks.
The Las Vegas Raiders, led by head coach Antonio Pierce, are now in the midst of what seems to be a crucial offseason in terms of the team’s future course. After taking over for the team halfway through the previous season, Pierce was named the team’s full-time head coach earlier this summer. The Raiders are expected to be among the most intriguing teams to watch throughout the 2023–24 season, which begins in September.
Naturally, one of the most important decisions a head coach must make early on is how to assemble the rest of their staff, and it seems like Pierce and the Raiders brass have made progress on at least one front going forward.
“Sources say Rich Scangarello is the front-runner to coach the quarterbacks for the Raiders.” This week, he was in the building, and a deal might be made. On X, the social media site that was once known as Twitter, NFL senior reporter Jeremy Fowler stated, “Scangarello has OC experience at the NFL and collegiate levels, lastly with Kentucky.”
In fact, Rich Scangarello has worked on the sidelines for several NFL teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, and Oakland Raiders. Most recently, he was the offensive coordinator for the Kentucky Wildcats. The Raiders will also need to decide how to use their picks in the forthcoming 2024 NFL Draft, which takes occur at the end of April. This is a significant decision.
