BREAKING NEWS: The most well-known athlete from Miami…
Apple TV+’s MLS Season Pass features the most well-known athlete from Miami.
I admit it, even though I moved my family out of Florida approximately three years ago. I continue to support my home Florida teams, the Miami Heat, the Miami Marlins, the Miami Dolphins, and the Florida Panthers, who are now atop the Atlantic Division. The Dolphins appeared like a Super Bowl contender for a portion of the season, the Marlins made the playoffs, and the Panthers and Heat advanced to their respective sports’ championship games. Last year was incredible.
My Florida teams are full of elite athletes, like Jimmy Butler, Sandy Alcantara, Tyreek Hill, and Matthew Tkachuk, to mention a few. However, a new athlete made history last year when he brought his skills to South Beach and took the title of most well-known athlete to ever reside in South Florida. More well-known than Shaq? Not as well-known as LeBron? Greater notoriety than Dan Marino? Indeed. The international sensation Lionel Messi, who immediately rose to prominence as the face of Major League Soccer and Inter Miami, was signed to a contract by the Inter Miami football team last year.
Apple officials had to acknowledge and celebrate this purchase, despite their loyalty to the Los Angeles Galaxy FC. This is due to Apple TV+’s nine-year streaming rights to Major League Soccer. Naturally, there is a sizable photo of Messi in the now-iconic pink Inter Miami uniform shirt on the Apple TV+ MLS webpage. And Apple knows exactly who butters its bread, as I said in a piece I published about it the other day. On the official Apple website, the company says, “Watch Messi, every club, and every match-including playoffs.” The season begins on Wednesday.
For those who do not have Apple TV+, the cost of an MLS Season Pass membership is $14.99 a month or $99 for the entire season. Monthly subscription fees for Apple TV+ are $12.99, or $79 for the full season.
