The Philadelphia Eagles’ contract move raises the possibility of a prominent player being traded this week.
For the most part of the offseason, trade speculations have surrounded the Philadelphia Eagles. We now have additional knowledge, even though nothing significant has happened aside than getting Kenny Pickett.
Pro Bowl EDGE rusher Haason Reddick was given clearance earlier in the summer to pursue a trade, as you are probably already aware. Reddick will be a free agent in March of next year, so his excessive 2024 cap figure of $21.83 million and his overall excellence in his two seasons with the Eagles will come into play.
In relation to Reddick’s deal, the Eagles’ latest action has raised the possibility that he will be traded within the next week. As reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Reddick’s $1 million incentive was covertly changed by Philadelphia from March 1 to April 1. This buys the Eagles some time to locate Reddick a trade partner.
The great EDGE rusher has to approve the move, which creates an interesting dynamic and suggests that the two parties are probably collaborating to secure a decent deal. It becomes increasingly likely that this will come to pass. For 2024, Reddick will receive a base salary of more than $14 million, the majority of which is subject to change. The 29-year-old former first-round choice would probably want to negotiate an extension with any team that acquired him.
(2020–23) Haason Reddick stats: 51 tackles for loss, 50.5 sacks, and 83 quarterback hits.
It’s evident that Reddick has changed. Regarding Philadelphia, it just added fellow edge rusher Bryce Huff in NFL free agency, having signed him away from the New York Jets. Additionally, the Eagles and Josh Sweat hammered out a new contract, making it obvious that Reddick will be traded.
